Candace Bovill-Taylor
Having travelled some of the world and the seven seas I developed a scientific
interest in nutrition with the birth of my children. Upon completion of a degree from King’s College London and state registration in dietetics I embarked upon a different voyage in the world of nutrition research focusing on cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity.
I am currently working at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust London with post MI patients in the Cardiac Prevention & Rehabilitation Service. In addition I am a Bariatric dietitian, guiding & supporting patients with dietary modifications required for bariatric (weight loss) surgery and run Lifestyle – weight management clinics providing advice, motivation and support for behaviour change around dietary choices & physical activity in the morbidly obese.
Plenty of research has demonstrated the basic principles of healthy eating require a diet full of variety with a majority of fruit, vegetables and whole grains whilst having less fats, saturates in particular. Our aim is to incorporate these healthy principles into exciting and tasty seasonal dishes for everyone to enjoy.
Having always enjoyed cooking and eating good food with great people, I hope you feel that enthusiasm in the recipes we have created.
